OK, getting better at setting up planes, but having a nightmare of a time setting up a glider with flaps on my DX-7. Regardless of whether I choose 2 Aileron 1 Flap servos, or 2 Aileron 2 Flap servos, I can't assign a switch to control the flaps. When I go to the channel assign menu, it won't allow any changes to switches. The flap setup portion of the instruction manual only applies to powered aircraft, and the glider setup section doesn't even mention how to setup flaps. Argh.
Also, I always prefer to have flaps setup on the rotary knob. This doesn't seem possible with the DX-7, I've tried assigning the Aux 1 to the rotary knob, but it doesn't work. Help.

lol well you could have bought one of the four Futaba Radios I had up for sale, or all of them! My reasons for switching, primarily the fact that you can't flash up the wrong model on the TX and go fly, unlike Futaba, tired of spending $100 a pop for 617FS receivers for a four channel plane, and love the wireless trainer setup. The only other option would be to buy a pair of Futaba radios that can use all futaba receivers, but the price difference was insane. Selling our 4 radios and receivers, paid for a pair of DX 7s.

Us Futabaonians are like "triple A" baseball tryouts. Sure we let you try out but really, you know we had already had our team picked....... right?

Dave, I haven't used the DX7, but if you aren't using functions like crow, why don't you just use the regular powered aircraft functions? The flaps should work normal for that set up. Does the DX7 have flaps set up on the throttle stick? Some glider radios do. Full throttle is the "clean" set up and idle drops flaps/crow etc. Like I said, never used the Spectrum radio, just a few suggestions to try out.

Supposedly, you can assign any channel you want, to any switch, but seems not to be the case. It's not a matter of what I want the control surfaces to do, absolutely could not get flaps to function, in Sailplane mode, regardless of 1 or 2 servo setup, with any switch. No clue why. In airplane mode, I've got it now working with the rotary knob, in the gear Rx slot, using a Y-Chord. So much for simple!

Dave I know you got the flaps working under acro model type. And this thread is from Feb but i thought i would pass this on anyway. Not sure about the dx7 but in the dx9 the flaps in sailplane mode are controled under the Camber menu A place to try next time.
