Folks, I'm trying to build a stakable rack for my planes (similar to attached) but NS building code must have changed, can't find it anywhere Anyone know where I can get PVC Piping 3/4 to 1 inch? Need approx 20 ft and lots of T connectors and 90' elbows Went to regulars (Home Depot, Kent, Home Hardware and Rona) Found 3/4 inch 10ft sections at Rona but they had no T junctions, no 90' elbows Attachments:

No longer in vogue, PVC is long gone from hardware stores. As you found out, they still have old stock pipe, but no fittings.

Have you tried electrical suppliers? They use the grey stuff for outdoor electrical runs...

The do but then I still have to figure out 90 and T junctions.
For electrical the 90 solution is a huge curved piece - which makes sense for electrical conduits but not for rack

That's not cheap either, and those fittings are getting harder to find in any variety and numbers, due to all the pex taking over. Don't these idiots realize that it's not about plumbing, it's about us, and what we want to fabricate? PVC stands, wing holders, etc, used to be the in thing. Now, I do have some photos of some amazing plywood setups for holding and transporting an aircraft, and they hang from the ceiling! Let me know, bet we could design and build a couple in no time.

Aisle 38, Bay 017 Home Depot, Dartmouth Crossing according to the Internet
Known as Schedule 40 PVC white pipe. (might be 1.25" diameter) (Pedal Launcher material)
..worth a try,
Bill

Hopefully they actually have it, Cdn Tire when I checked last year, to do the same thing, had all the pieces in their catalog, store supposedly had lots in stock (Cole Hbr), but when I got there, one only of each fitting. Seems they don't always bother to update their computers on available stock!

We also use pvc lb and llb to get the 90 and "T" your looking for. They are as common as air but more $$ than the white stuff. Call Sumner on lady hammond. Plumbing wholesaler. Ask for the white cpvc. They may not sell to you but we can manage that one if they have what you need. worth a try..
