Working on Mike Herman's 1/4 Scale SE5A. I started the build from plans, many years ago, then acquired a kit. Mike bought the lot a couple of years ago, and hasn't had a lot of spare time, so I'd agreed to finish the work. He's going electric, complete with sound system for the guns and engine! I wasn't happy with the Horizontal Stab, it was warped, and not as strong as I thought it should be. I'd built it ages ago, and just wasn't up to par. So junked it, and built a new one yesterday. Got the tail feathers covered, hinged, and getting ready to start installing the servos and controls for it.

All controls for the rudder and elevator are rigged, and servos installed. Just about ready to cover the aft fuse section.

One fuselage side is covered, other side I'll do tomorrow, progressing well, while still working on several other planes.

All fabric on the fuse is now on, and Mike dropped by the plywood for the engine cover, and front fuse sides. I sheeted the engine cover, one side is cut out, and the cylinder head and exhaust manifold are done and in place. Some teeth now too, with the Vickers gun mounted in the fuse!

Good news Glen, there's a spare Lewis and Vickers as well, so they have been set aside for you with the other kit.

Lots of work done on the SE5A, airframe is back over to Mike Herman for paint, landing gear is all setup, engine cover is done, and good progress on the cockpit kit! Electric motor mount is fabricated, speaker system for the guns and engine good to go!

Looks like you're done with that one Dave. Can't wait to see it in action.

Yours is ready for pickup by the way! I do have to ask mike though about whether there was a second set of plans, pretty sure there is. Wish I had time to build another one!

Outer wing struts done, exhausts, engine, now I can remove the wings, and concentrate on finishing the fuselage.
