The main wing on this plane of mine is not from the foam Richard gave me but from elmer's foam board I picked up from a dollarama. I wanted to experiment before using the good stuff. so the main wing is only temporary to see if this monstrosity will even fly. so with all that said here is a couple pics. Note the cool home made wheels

also other than the red markings on the wing no painting has been carried out on the plane.

That's awesome Kevin. Is it the same planform as the one from Kevin Baker? Also, how do like the neon dollar store foam and with your servo up forward, where does it balance? I thought about the straight wing but haven't flown one of these before so I chickened out Soon we will have a small fleet of "Blasy Bee's" at the indoor..... Steve

Steve According to the plans the CG is supposed to be 3" back from the leading edge of the wing. That is where I'm beginning and we'll see, it looks to balance well at that point. I have room in the battery compartment to move the battery 3/4" forward or backward. The neon dollar store foam is GREAT for flat surfaces, but sucks for curved areas. This is why the main wing is made out of 'Elmer's foam board' from Dollarama. If this flies well I'm going to maybe make a second wing for it. I also have two different prop sizes to trial (5x3 and a 6x4) we'll see which pulls better.

I thought about a tail wheel but I'm going with a skid instead. It will slide easier on the gym floor and less weight as I didn't give it a very large battery opening to move around. I think that foam you have is actually laminated depron. When I looked at it, it appeared to be 2 sheets of 3mm. It will bend on it's own but it doesn't do it as nice as the other stuff plus if it is laminated, that makes it even worse. The thought of the flat wing will make it less floaty I'm told. It will be interesting to get them in the air. Richard has the record of 2 consecutive loops with his. We need to attempt a third. Nice work bench. Is that the boss's kitchen table that you have have carefully prepared the table cloth as not to put a single mark on it? I think we all have received all them warning orders Steve

You are correct my friend the nightly supper is a nightmare of not dropping food on the planes. Until I can get the back yard garage heated for winter building, I've moved indoors.

It's looking pretty darned good in my opinion. It has a very light wing loading, so I think the addition of a couple of grams isn't going to make a huge difference. I can't wait to see it fly. Especially side by side with Richard, and see if you can figure out who's is who's.

Update, We had a successful maiden of the Blazy "B" on the weekend. It flew very well and needed only a few small trim adjustments and a "quarter" on the nose for balance. I will add that weight permanently for next week as I only had it taped on. After adding it, things smoothed out and it flew quite slowly despite my build being on the heavier side. Used a heavier than necessary motor as it was what I had from another model. Had a difficult time getting the servos inside the fuselage and ended up putting them on the outside. I should have laid out them out prior to gluing the fuselage sides together. It would have been much easier and would have had them more forward, helping with the CG. It was a fun little build, easy maiden plus 2 fun flights. It is very floaty and others there said that was how it flies. I flew on low rates (50% travel) but used high rates (100%) for a couple loops. It didn't seem like it would roll and I never tried. Thanks to Andrew for setting up a rudder to aileron mix on the Spectrum radio. It is a rudder plane (plugged into the aileron channel) but it felt so uncomfortable steering it on the ground by aileron. I think Kevin M. had his new Blazy "B" out as well but had an issue with his prop or motor (?) so hopefully next week we"ll see a couple more out there plus there is someone else building one I think. Yes I broke a prop and only had a larger one with me at the gym which was too much for the plane. When I got home I went to change the prop out only too find I had clockwise props only of the correct size/pitch so I had to remove the motor to reverse two wires on the motor. Well "Murphy" was in the house, didn't one of the wires break off right at the windings to the motor (too short to solder back together). So Now I have to replace the motor and don't have a 10G motor in stock. I ordered two exact same motors from Hobby King yesterday but they won't get here for 3-4 weeks at best. until then I'll have to wait , but as luck would have it my Hobby King Clown Fish "Nero" Glue and go (Foam Plane kit) showed up in the mail yesterday, so I might be able to transfer over all the electrics to it and have that ready by Sunday (it uses a different motor/prop that I bought with it).
