We have been given 5 cases of Boy Scout "Unbelievable Butter" microwave popcorn for the event. The first 30 pilots to register on the day of the event will receive one box containing 18 bags of the popcorn.
Come out and enjoy a day of flying and fun.

Christine Hines From the Museum has shared our Facebook post in regards to the Fun Fly on the Museum Facebook page and it is starting to take off like wild fire.
May have a few extra spectators show up this year. Fingers crossed

I have been asked to ask so I will ask.... Would there be anybody giving buddy box flights on the trainer? Just askin' Kevin Baker

It would have to be an instructor or pilot very familiar with the trainers. It would have to happen when other pilots are not flying. I'm not going to say no but it might be possible.
How's that for an answer? definite maybe!

Rather than flat out refuse a Buddy Box Ride to someone who appears seriously interested, perhaps a rain check could be issued. That offers the advantage of getting such a person back for a second visit. Just a thought.

I think we might have done it one year.
Depends on number if pilots we have
If sky always full, not really a learning environment

Hi folks - looking at weather forecast - essentially we're between a rock and a hard place. In view that rain won't be ending till noon tomorrow with strong winds following the system, we have decided to postpone the Fun Fly to Sunday 14 July at 0800. Rain should not be an issue then and hopefully winds will be more moderate as system moves further away. Those that wish to fly tomorrow after the rain are more than welcome but Fun Fly will officially be Sunday. I wish I would have kept my Fun cub

Well it certainly looks like RC flying opportunity today.
I guess there is still a long way to go for accurate weather forecasting in Halifax area.
PS: Gates are only shadow locked this morning

Yes, later today when the wind backs off. The rain is definitely done.
Tomorrow looks good, so far. Starting out with light winds first thing in the morning.

It's on today!!
The fog is going to clear this morning and the winds are light. No threat of showers until late this afternoon.
Should be a good day for flying and socializing. See you at the field!

In spite of the ultimately bogus forecasts we've had this weekend, the postponed event went off today successfully.
26 registered fliers took the unforecast strong winds in the morning in stride and a lot of flying was done. We didn't get the sunshine that was forecast either, but I believe a good time was had by all, aided by the hearty BBQ provided at lunch time.
Thanks to all the volunteers that helped out and to all the visiting fliers!
