Amazing Christmas video. Enjoy!! Subject: STARTING THE CHRISTMAS SEASON -- a flash mob! ---------- Forwarded message ---------- "Starting with a single cellist on the floor of the National Air and Space Museum's "Milestones of Flight" gallery, and swelling to 120 musicians, the U.S. Air Force Band exhilarated museum visitors with its first-ever flash mob. The six-minute performance featured an original arrangement of "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring/Joy to the World," led by the band's commander and conductor, Col. Larry H. Lang. Unsuspecting museum visitors including tourists and school groups were astonished as instrumentalists streamed into the gallery from behind airplanes and space capsules and vocalists burst into song from the Museum's second floor balcony."

Amazing, and at the same time saddening, that our neighbors to the South have such an amazing sense of their history and heritage, while here, museums are massively understaffed, underfunded, and the general public knows little about us. Our Public Affairs folks seem to be focused on telling those of us in uniform what great jobs we're doing, while not getting the message out to Canadians as a whole. I'm spending the bulk of my holiday season in the Shearwater Aviation Museum, where a few incredibly dedicated folks are striving to preserve Canada's Maritime Aviation History, with very little support, in a leaky building, and every acquisition is a minor miracle of scrounging and begging. Hopefully the current government will see the value in supporting our museums, and lend a hand. I hope as well that everyone who loves aviation, in any form, will consider volunteering some time, or donating to, the Shearwater Aviation Museum.
