i picked this kit up from jollidude a few weeks back. i started building it this week and have the tail mostly done, the right wing half built and the fuse rubber banded together. i am looking for some advice on a couple of things.
1. engine. i have heard that dave built one of these and i would like to know what engine he used. i have 3 candidates an os 108 an enya r120 4stroke and a os 160.
2. fuse. its been 20 years since i built a fuse like this. what glue do you guys like for this type of fuse wood glue, epoxy, or c a
3. landing gear. i have the mark 1 kit but i am not a big fan of the gear in the wing and plan on moving it to the fuse. there is not a lot of room up front but i should be able to do it.
thanks

I went 20 cc Gasser on the last one, but have in the past used Saito 115, and 100. I would not go the 160, that's massive overkill. Enya is a good choice, assuming it's in top shape. OS 2 stroke, sure, but you won't get the prop size you'll want for the torque, and vertical performance. Glue for the fuse, depends on your skill level, and how comfortable you are with each type. The ply isn't the greatest for CA, but if you're used to working with thin CA, and microballoons, then you can run thin fillets along all the inside joints, and get a good bond. I would recommend Sig aliphatic resin glue though, Sig-Bond. Pretty sure I even have some here that you could have. Epoxy gets really heavy, really fast. You'll turn a super lightly loaded amazing aerobatic into a dog in a hurry. Same with carpenter's glue, too much, too heavy. As for the gear, read up, if you can find the means to fuse mount it, great. If not, you will have to beef up the entire landing gear area on the wing, and be gentle with your landings. PS, I'm rarely on here these days, busy getting ready to move out west. If you have questions, call me, 902-462-0630. That's the best bet.
