Anyone interested in helping out with a work party for next weekend (21 or 22 March) to help out setting up the field for summer flying. I have all the critical stuff (solar panels/ batteries and FM Radio) just need a few extra hands to make light work of moving the tables out of the way.
Right now is too far out to forecast the weather but I'm planning on Saturday (21st) mid morning or so to grab the key and head out to the field. Shouldn't ake more than an hour and if weather is good we might just be able to get a flight in afterwards. FINGERS Crossed.

Are we OK to start the RC season . I thought the Base Commander closed non-essential activities .

That is Military non-essential activities, so long as we implement the 2 meter (6') rule and being outdoors and a small group should not be a risk. No hand shaking etc. the only issue might be planes requiring a spotter as you would have to break the 2 meter rule. Also anyone that might have gone anywhere during March break this week might be a concern. Otherwise I believe weather will be the challenge.

Once we get a lot closer to the weekend we'll see what the weather will be. At the least we may get the field squared away until weather will allow us to begin flying. It won't be any long drawn out setup, just move the tables out of the shed and hookup the solar station. Those that have trainer planes/fuel etc. in storage , that can wait until we actually start flying.
I really want to see how the sheds held up over the winter and see if there is any winter damage out there.

Well based on what I have found out today it will be in the best interest of the club to delay any opening of the field until further notice. I'm attaching photos of a letter released on Friday to the military units directly what they are to do in response to Covid-19, It is full of Military terminology so don't try to read it too easily. have a look at Para 4 f and h. on page 2. sorry for the quality of the photos but it came off the web this way.

As of 5 mins ago my wife and Daughter are laid off for 2-3 weeks and maybe longer as this virus spreads. Stay home and stay safe.
