Well, it's started...... I finally cleaned my bunker.& set up some good old fashion balsa wood kits, trying to decide what to build(it would have been easy if you guys didn't force me to buy all those kits) but in the end I chose the Sterling Fokker D-7. ;D
Looked at it last nite....for a old kit, the wood is good. Going to be a pleasure to build. Just like the old days.
Thanks Marc.
I'll do a build thread if any one is interested, just to show how real models are made

Closest dates I could find for the kit was 1968-1972
Older than some of the flyers at the club ;-)

As I said before, I have started the Fokker D-7 by Sterling. Sterling was a company from way back that produced a lot of u/c & r/c kits. If you could build a Sterling kit , you could build anything. Anyway I started by sorting out all the wood sheets & deciding what to start first. The fuse won. ;D Started by seperating all die cut pieces, sanding & gluing together. This was to make the fuse sides. The trick to removind die cut pieces is to sand the back of the sheets. This make for easier removal as some of the die cutting does not completly penetrate the wood. This is not because of dull dies, but poor quality wood. After all sub assemblys were made, such as landing gear & cabane mounts(take care here as these items have to be accurate) the fuse could be built. Sand & fit all parts before final gluing. Here we go again. I have gone as far as I can go on the fuse of the Fokker D-7 until I select an engine for it. I think I will use an ordinary .60 to power it. I started on the tail section this weekend & after 6.5 hours of cutting, glueing, making new parts learning to use improper english again ...I finally produced an elevater, stab, rudder & fin. And it all fits. I have a couple of hours of sanding ahead & then the wings will be started. A few pictures to follow.
