Guys,
I have been contacted by Sean Ryan the organizer for Air Show Atlantic to see if we could put on a display (static) for this year's airshow in Debert August 27-28th. He has already contacted the Truro club and was told about us and most importantly Jimmy and his F18. He didn't understand the flight restrictions that are in effect with MAAC and transport Canada but was looking for A FLYING DEMONSTRATION. which I had to disappoint him with the fact we couldn't. I walked him thru some of the rules we now have to abide by now and that our planes are considered RPAS in the eyes of Transport Canada.
He is still really looking forward for a static display and would feed us for the two days if we could set up an assortment of aircraft and be able to educate the public on the hobby. this would be a two day event for participants but we could divide that up between a couple people (one day each) if we have the interest from the club.
Now for the conflict .......those dates are the Avon Ches Lockhart Memorial Cup dates.
Would anyone be interested in manning a table for 1 or the 2 days at Debert? It would be a drive up in morning and return that afternoon and repeat for the next day. you would get free access to the airshow as a participant and if we had at least 3 people per day we could spell each other off to walk around and see all the sites/sights.
Please respond here if interested. I'll be in contact with Sean mid-next week with a decision if we can support. PS he is also looking at this as a repeating event each year.

Hi Kevin, i would be interested in participating on one or possibtly both days.
If you think it appropriate, I could bring my Apprentice and/or Habu STS, as good examples of entry-level RC aircraft.
Also, depending on the nature of our display setup (preferably a powered/sheltered booth), I could bring my RF 9.5 setup (laptop, 32" monitor and transmitter) and thereby offer prospective enthusiasts a first-hand, simulated RC flying experience.
For your consideration.
Tim

This is just what I'm looking for. A couple guys per day (3 ideal to split the shift up) and a good sampling of types of planes. I know Sean Ryan really would like to have Jimmy's F-18 on display but jimmy I don't believe is back in the country yet. I have all kinds of MAAC pamphlets and posters etc. If they don't supply a sunshade I have a very nice 10x10 one that is very easy to transport and setup.
