Last summer I bought a kit from Dave, a very old 40-size Bristol M1 kit.
As it was not a builder friendly kit, I got to a spot where I was stuck - I had to construct a wing covering panel where pilot sits and where wing is bolted to the fuze but there were no pictures and the typewritten instructions skipped over that part.
The kit was so old, the instructions only included 8 typewritten / dot-matrix printed pages w a few black and white photos. The kit was so old, the instruction pages were yellow rather than white and the balsa was so brittle, a Q-tip had more strength than an 1/4 longeron
Looking at the Balsa USA site, I saw they had a new instruction manual (in colour!). I sent them an email and explained my predicament and offered to purchase the updated manual if they would be willing to email it to me as shipping it would take too long. Well within 2 days I received an email with the new manual attached as a PDF document - free of charge. The new document had 27 pages and triple the photos of the first document - all in glorious colour.
All this to say, don't be shy and contact the kit's manufacturer if you find a problem.
I'll try and post photos of my progress shortly
Tks Balsa USA!
