Have had this kit for many many years. Decided to start building it. Half and a hour and 1 wing halve almost complete. The wood is still good except 2 pieces of the wing sheeting were very dry and brittle. Luckily I had a newer piece in the balsa drawer that worked well. should have the wings completely done tonight and will start the fuse tomorrow after work. I know this plane is very well known as it has a huge thread following on RCG. Anyone know of any mods to make during the build? Steve

I built one a couple of years ago, and flew it over, and over, and over, lol. If you want an extra set of main landing gear for it, with wheels, it's yours. No mods required, it's a hoot just the way it is. I had started with a .46 OS, lots of power, but then went to an OS 55 AX. Even more fun. It's probably the most enjoyable plane I've had, and I'd do another one in a heartbeat. One Mod I would do, is get rid of the elastic band wing holding setup, I've got some cool short nylon wing bolts, with an easy grip end, for hand tightening, same as I had on my Seagull Grob Tutor. I'd definitely go that route, be glad to show you, it can also be done with cut down regular nylon wing bolts. The tube takes all the stress, these just hold the wings tight to the fuse.

I see what your saying about the elastic band hold down. I am going to do that mod. I can see where the bolt would work better.
