Do these really work (i.e. convert glow engine to gas engines)? Is it better to buy gas engine (several hundred $) or buy $100 conversion kit? Ignition Systems for Glow EnginesSpecifically looking at 4 stroke glow engines (70 size and + Saito and OS) Tks

That is very interesting. I wonder if they would work well. Be a guinea pig for us and let us know how they work lol

I have converted an OS.91 2 stroke and it worked good, the only problem was exhaust gasses (carbon) were going in the fuel tank and I didn't trust the quality of the fuel after a few flights. I did fly around 2 hours with the conversion and the engine started to get hard to start and the compression dropped so at the end it cost me a sleeve and piston ring and went back to glow fuel. I have a friend in BC who did the conversion on a SAITO 1.20 and the exhaust was really clean compared to my two stroke, he has been flying it for a few years now and never had a problem.

Tks et, I never did get around to try it
May be a solution as glow fuel starts getting hard to get locally - although gas engines are becoming slowly more affordable
PS: Welcome aboard by the way. You in HRM area?
