Just finished installing a set of the new E-Flite 90 degree rotating 60-120 sized electric retracts in my Top Flite Corsair. While they are a bit longer and deeper than the robart air retracts, the mod is fairly quick. I had to add some wood onto the rails, to raise the retracts clear of the leading edge, little over 1/8th of an inch will do. I then notched out the wing spar (scary!!!), to allow the gear to fit. There is some wiring that comes straight out the back, so it's got to be done. I then made a 3/8 in ply spar fishplate, that went between the aft side of the spar, and wheel well. Epoxied into place, and I think the wing is stronger than ever. Gear functions beautifully, really happy to finally have e-retracts that rotate. Next job, fit a set into my Top Flite P-40!

Perhaps one of the few advantages of a Futaba over a Spektrum - E-Flite retracts actually work as advertised with a Futaba Tx/Rcx

Funny thing, that's what's on Tom's new Me-109, and he's using spectrum, they worked first try, no issues. We tested them several times as well.

Twilight zone stuff.
Lots of Spektrum Tx/Rx do - lots of forums about them

The only trick with the E-Flite units is, do not use the included "Y" cable. It contains an amplifier that creates chaos with the servo less retracts.
Frankly I am baffled as to why they even include it.
All my warbirds have retracts, and I fly Spektrum. Only time I had trouble, I'd forgotten about that cable...

Interesting. I know the supplied Y-Harness works fine with all 3 of my Futaba radios, no idea about Spektrum. Maybe it's the stick to plane interface that's the issue!
