Ran this one up in April - worked fine, as usual. Started it last week, it ran briefly started sputtering, stopped and will not start again.
Engine turns over freely. Compression is apparent. Checked and cleaned tank, checked take-up hose and clunk Fuel is fresh from a brand new, sealed jug. Fuel and vent hoses are sound. Fuel to carburetor is visible in the line at carb.. Checked glow plug and igniter; plug lights up in my hand; installed new glow plug and gasket anyway.
What am I missing??

What are your needle settings? Start at 1 1/4 for both at start up and tune from there.

Agree with Kevin Check your high end needle valve and screw it fully in and then back out 1.25 to 1.5 turns it should fire up then tune it from there.

Hi, there may be a number of things going on here depending on how long the plane has been sitting
1) first check your glow plug and your glow plug igniter ( try the igniter on the plug when you take it out of the engine
2) second , if you are running engine in the plane confirm that you are getting fuel out of the tank do this by empty the take and check that you can here the klunk, then refill the tank
3) check the fuel line fitting going into the carb , attack a clean line to this and open the carb full, blow gently into it so that air is passing (this will imply it is not blocked with gunk )
4)for now open the highend needle 2.5 turn not 1.5 you want to get fuel
5) when you try and start the engine , prime it first , cover the carb with your finger and HAND flip the prop with out the glow plug ignitor until you get fuel on your finger
6) close the carb and open to start position of about 1/4 open and try , when it starts run it at about 3/4 throttle for about 4min before you adjust the needle valve

As unbelievable as it may seem, make sure your vent from muffler to the tank is not glogged. Simply get a TPin or something small and sharp and make sure muffler outgoing vent nipple is not clogged or plugged preventing air from going to fuel tank
