From what I've hear it looks like HEFA will not be able to renew their Shannon park field effective end of this month. NOT Confirmed as yet! I wanted too put this out here as the new president was approached this morning at our indoor flying in regards to our drop-in fee policy. The policy is a $5 fee per any flying day for non members up to the maximum of a full membership value for the category of membership they fall under. That means max $35 for reg / $40 for Ordinary / $45 for Associate Reg = Reg/Res/Foreign and retired Military Ordinary = Commissionaires/RCMP/NPF/MFRC and DND Public service Associate = Civilian
Of course all flyers will have to have a current MAAC membership. It will be the responsibility of the person drawing the field key for the day to collect all fees and name of person so that it can be tracked so as to know when the person has reached the max payment. There is a log book in the club "football" with pens. Next time I get my hands on the football I'll make a special sheet for entries.
The club member opening will ensure the money collected is forwarded to the treasurer with name of drop-in person for deposit to our account.

Another point the club only opens the field on weekends and holidays, weather permitting. during winter months the field is normally not accessible as the road is not plowed and gates freeze into the ground. Normal flying season is from March to November but we can open in the winter if weather and road conditions allow. ie a new years day flight. it is rare but can be done. there will not be any tables or chairs available at the field as they are all stacked and secured for the winter. there is access to pilot stations if we are flying to be MAAC compliant.
