I was out to Al Coolen's today and rummaged thru his pallets of 3 tab green shingles. They are all new (never used) stacked on pallets but over 10+ years in age left outside...enough that moss had begun to grow on the bottom layers. We picked down 2-3 courses and have taken the equivalent of 9 bundles from the center of the stack plus a not so good bundle to be used as ridge cap. They are not perfect but I believe in the summer, heat will work for us to be able to install. I'm suggesting a few tubes of roofing cement to glue down the tabs to help with wind. I have the shingles all in the back of my truck right now but plan on making a trip to the field during the holidays to off load these into the wooden shed.
I'll be needing a couple people (3 max) to help me off load and stack these in the shed. They are loose and not in plastic bundles. Based on weather forecast I'm thinking of heading to the field on Thursday, time to be determined by volunteers .....any volunteers got a few minutes to spare???
Should only take 15-30 mins Max!

No problem Kevin..John Fennell gave me a hand and we polished the job off in 10 minutes. 400-500 lbs of shingles later. we now have shingles for a summer install. All are piled just inside wooden shed on the ground. FYI all they are green 3 tab shingles in a lot better shape than the ones on the southern side of the roof.

I took a couple pics while out at the field. one of the condition of the roof and one shot of the shingles that will replace the roof
The green shingles on top and the bottom are the bad ones I took to keep the better ones covered from the sun and weather this winter. 9 bundles of fair-good shingles are stacked here.
