I have a used fiberglass fuse warbird that needs some work. I've repaired all the holes and I'm looking to match the existing colors on the airframe. Where is a good place to get that done. I have some sample pieces and would like to get a small amount of each color for airbrushing. Can't find what colors were used from the manufacturer........ old model no longer in production.
Also, what's a good fiberglass epoxy/resin to use for bigger cracks and holes. I don't want to use hobby epoxies....?

It's hard to get small amounts of proper resin. Cloth is easy, Maritime Hobbies and RC W&W both carry cloth from .5 oz to 1.5 oz, not sure if MSC does as well. Cdn Tire has heavier cloth. Also, depends on what the fuse is, is it polyester, vinylester, or epoxy? Resins are avail at marine stores, but in larger quantities. If your fuse is compatible with epoxy resin, you could pop over and use some of my stock. For paint, Benjamin Moore is capable of scanning and colour matching, and they can mix to any FS, RLM, etc military colours. Their Aura paints are an exterior water-base, great to work with, and with a few drops of extender, will spray perfectly well from a hobby airbrush. One option is to strip her down, repaint the whole aircraft, add some custom vinyl graphics, from Callie Graphics, do some weathering, and voila, a unique warbird that doesn't look like every other warbird.

When you're all done with repairs, etc, especially if using water-based paints, which is about all you can get mixed these days, give it a coat of Americana Clear Matte. (Avail at Michael's). It's fuel proof, and has UV filters to protect from paint fade.

Fantastic, some great advice that I will take. I thought about repainting the whole fuse. It is an ESM model so I'm not sure exactly sure if it us polyester or epoxy. I will try to find out.
Thanks
