Kev, we do have a pile of red monokote, if you know the specific shade of red, I'll see if I've got the right color.

I'll have to run out to the Garage and get the Ultracote name off the roll....but as you can see in the picture above I haven't been able to match the cowling paint to it. I'll bring a sample with me to the Swap Meet and see if I can match it up.

Rats. I'll bring the excess monokote that we have, and see if any matches up. For the cowl, take a sample to Benjamin Moore paints, they can scan it, and mix up a perfect match for you. Other, cheaper option, is to buy touch up paint at Cdn Tire, some stores have colour samples, that will give an accurate idea, compared to the can lids, which never seem to match what comes out!

Checked your photo though, it's not too bad a difference, between cowl and the covering, you did pretty damn good.

Already tried this route (cdn Tire) the cowl is the same color as my truck!!!!!! but it is still too dark!

It's a lot closer match but not perfect...it will have too do as that now makes about 10 coats of paint on the cowling (including the primer). It will be getting too heavy if I paint it any more.

Well 2 1/2 hrs later I have the starburst pattern on the Wing. Don't look too closely as it is not 100% symmetrical...but it is as close as it will ever get!!

Hey Kev, I took a look at a newer Hi-Tech radio, same module as your CHallenger 7s, same connector pins, so you can convert them to 2.4 GHz!

Hortz Stab now completed, Vertical left to go ......it gets easier as the decals get smaller Does it look anything like the picture on the box?? ANY ONE KNOW what's the best way to seal the decals and trim tape so that glow fuel doesn't peel them off? After all this work I would like it to survive more than one or two flights!!

I've used trim solvent on all the corners as that's where it always seems to start. I've also used clear nail polish on the same areas with good results when I didn't have solvent. I prefer monokoat so I can't stay for sure about how well it works on ultracoat but I assume egual good results
